I am debating between getting an iFlip, and Kodak zi8 to shoot videos of me roaming around restaurants and beaches. I wanted to know if there are better portable camcorder that you recommend.

The iFlip is great because it's dependable.

But I find that the best camera for me is the one that's easiest to upload videos from. And plugging a camera into a computer seems to be one step too many.

So I would use either my phone's camera or any camera with a eye-fi

Thanks. Filmed my first food review on a bulky old camcorder, and it was just too much hassle to carry around. I really like the iFlip too, but never thought of using my iPhone to do the recordings. Great idea, it'll be one less thing to carry around, and it would be a really cool story to say that I just used my phone to start my entire business. I'll do a trial run with the iPhone, and see if the quality is "just good enough". Thanks! – Andy Dang Apr 6 at 17:03

I've got a Canon Vixia HD. I never use it. I use the video camera on my Canon point and shoot. It has HD and it much faster and easier to use than the full blown video camera. Anyone want to buy a Vixia HD?

I use http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam_communications/webcams/devices/6333 but like Andrew mention, one step too much, don't like to plug it to my computer. Eye-Fi by far the best invention, didn't know I could you it for video as well. Thanks!

After much research I decided to go with the Canon T2i DSLR. It's a DSLR camera but also take videos. The main reason for this is:

  1. I do not need to bring a camera and a camcorder with me
  2. It has amazing video capture, way better than non pro camcorders
  3. It's digital, takes SD cards (never get tape ones for non pro use, it's too much hassle)
