Question

Recently I asked on FoundersMix about any services that offered an easy to install Tweet This button (http://foundersmix.com/questions/702/automated-url-shortening-for-tweeting). There were no suggestions that did exactly what I wanted, so I coded one up at http://ko.ly. It's been getting some use, but how do I push it from here?

One option is to spam a whole bunch of blogs telling them about the service, but I think there'll be more creative next steps out there. What's my next move?

You might want to clarify your question title. As it stands, I'm not sure what you're referring too. e.g. How is url shortening going to benefit your company's marketing agenda? I don't quite follow. You are not breaking any TOS, but make sure your questions are clear in order to get a better response. – Mosses Akizian♦ Mar 15 at 20:21

I would consider focusing on the making it accessible to developers and the Wordpress community, offer it as a plugin so it's easy for folks to use, then I would watch the Wordpress forum for questions that relate and if they like it ask for a vote toward your rating.

I would email your link to Wordpress theme builders or designers (WooThemes, StudioPress, etc.) as an announcement that it exists, you may get a response.

The Sitepoint forums may be a good place to ask and showcase your product, offer it up as a request for feedback.

Wow I think I would like to try this on my new theme that I just designed. I will pass it on to the developer I see what he thinks! The current one we are using, is so bloaty that it slows it down the site way too much. Is this less bloaty then the normal retweet button? Sorry as you can see I am not a developer, but I do like to find solutions to my problems :)

As to you're question I would be interested to find out how you get this sort of stuff out there. I'm not good at marketing myself, or pushing stuff onto other people.

I would also get as a plugin on the Wordpress / Joomla / drupal / etc - if you can get this on those platforms, I am sure it will increase your traffice/use.
